Challengers Guildford Young Adults Scheme offers disabled 18 – 25 years olds the opportunity to experience a wide range of both centre based and community activities in a safe, supportive and fun environment. Activities range from water sports, theatre, eating out, cinema, companion cycling, overnights, pub/club nights and much more.
The Include Choir
The Include Choir is an inclusive choir for people with and without communication or learning disabilities. We use Makaton sign, objects of reference and other inclusive communication techniques to help people understand and take part. Singing is a great way to meet people, make music and have fun.
The Therapy Garden
Garden Pastimes is a group which meets at the Therapy Garden where attendees can take part in gardening activities and light physical exercise in a supportive and peaceful environment. All with the aim to aid cognitive stimulation and social interaction through opportunities for accomplishment, recollection and enjoyment.
Borrow My Doggy
Borrow My Doggy is an online meeting place where dog owners who may not have enough time or the physical ability to look after their pet adequately, can meet with individuals who would like to look after a dog for at least part of the time or on a temporary basis.
We provide people with learning disabilities with a varied programme of sessions during the day, often using the local facilities in and around the town centre. Our sessions encourage people to develop new skills to help them to live as independently as possible.
