IMECE Women’s Centre stands against all forms of violence against women and girls. They support and empower Turkish, Kurdish and Cypriot Turkish women and Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee (BAMER) women to improve the quality of their lives. Established in 1982, IMECE Women’s Centre is a women-only space.

They believe BAMER women’s needs are multi-faceted and intersectional. They therefore adopt a holistic approach to service delivery where they aim to achieve the most positive impact possible by responding to women’s practical, social, emotional, intellectual, financial, and aspirational needs simultaneously.

We set out to achieve our aims and objectives through the provision of the wide range of services such as:

  • Advice & Information
  • Therapeutic
  • VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls)
  • Training
  • Volunteering

This service gives advice on various subjects including immigration, domestic violence, housing, health and education. They also organises English classes, health seminars and some social events. Also offers telephone interpreting service. Some home visiting for older women or women who are isolated or confined to the home.
