Velocity Wheelchair Racing

Description

Velocity was formed from the ashes of the famous Falcons Club in 1999 and started with 3 athletes, 2 coaches and 2 assistants.

Since the clubs first AGM in 1999, it has gone from strength to strength with an increase in athletes to 7. Success has come to the club in many events including 2 members being in the GB team for the World Championships in Line in 2002 and beyond. Also the 1st and 2nd place in the 2002 London Marathon came from the club, as did the 3rd female finisher.

Other success in many races is mainly due to the coaching and encouragement of the finest coach Chris Parsloe. The club has to consolidate its success of the past and work towards even greater achievements in the future, which we are sure to achieve with hard training combined with team spirit and camaraderie.

We cater for all levels from basic exercise to top level competition. Typically we cater for ages from 9 upwards. All new members will be assessed and carefully monitored to ensure training is not likely to be to the detriment of your medical condition.

We train on Monday and Wednesday 6.30pm to 8.00pm every week. Further training on Saturday mornings at 7.30am is also offered when required at various venues, typically Crystal Palace Park and Dulwich Park. After Saturday training we occasionally do a 5km parkrun at Dulwich at 9am.
